1) PENN STATE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, Hershey, PA

 

Pediatric Chaplain

 

Job Description:  

 

The Penn State Children’s Hospital is seeking a full time Pediatric Chaplain to begin on or around July 1, 2008. The Penn State Children’s Hospital is part of the Medical College of Penn State and the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center , a tertiary care facility and level one Trauma center in Hershey , Pennsylvania .  The Children’s Hospital will be growing from 90 to130 beds and moving into a new building within three years. It has a PICU, NICU and Hematology Oncology Unit along with many subspecialties. It is also developing a Palliative Care program for children with chronic or terminal illnesses called the Hummingbird Project.

 

The candidate will be joining the current chaplain staff consisting of a Director and Assistant Director (both CPE Supervisors), a Palliative Care Staff Chaplain, a Roman Catholic Care Coordinator, five CPE Resident Chaplains and 4-8 Extended or Summer CPE students.

Board Certified Chaplain

 

Job Description:

 

Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics is seeking the addition of a Board Certified Chaplain to join its extensive and well integrated Department of Chaplaincy Services.  Children’s Mercy Hospital is a 300 bed, free-standing pediatric teaching center of excellence located in Kansas City , Missouri .  This will be a night position.  Following orientation, this full-time position will convert from five days per week to three, 12 hour nights per week.  This position is designed for the well-experienced person who enjoys working autonomously.  Responsibilities will include responding to all routine and crisis situations that occur within the hospital during the night.  The individual applying for this position will have the following credentials:

 

                        Board Certification in a recognized chaplaincy group

                        Bachelors Degree

Master of Divinity

Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (minimum)

Ordination or licensure

Ecclesiastical or faith-group endorsement

Three years of staff experience (minimum)

Pediatric experience of some type is preferred, but not required
